Save the Date: Scaling Up the Food Chain Intensive Workshops for Specialty Crop Growers

Cuyahoga Valley Countryside Conservancy and the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association are planning something big for this fall! We’ll be offering a four day two-part workshop for specialty crop growers covering production techniques and business skills designed to help farmers scale up and take advantage of the growing opportunities to sell to restaurants, retailers, and institutions. The workshops will take place at Shisler Conference Center in Wooster, OH on November 2-5, 2013.

Join OSU's Agroecosystem Management Program and Organic Valley on September 24th for an oilseed pressing workshop at Mellinger Farm, including a demonstration of Organic Valley's mobile seed press.

We will cold-press seed from the canola, sunflower, flax and camelina grown in research plots at Mellinger farm, and will share our experiences working with these crops.

Registration is now open for the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association’s (OEFFA) 35th annual conference, Affirming Our Roots, Breaking New Ground. Pre-conference events will be held on Friday, February 14 and the conference will take place Saturday, February 15 and Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Granville Middle and High schools in Granville, Ohio (Licking County).
 

Organic Farmer, Activist, and Author to Keynote Ohio’s Largest Food and Farming Conference

Organic farmer, consultant, activist, and author Atina Diffley will be the featured keynote speaker at the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association’s (OEFFA) 35th annual conference, Affirming Our Roots, Breaking New Ground, on Saturday, February 15 in Granville. She will also lead a pre-conference about wholesale marketing for produce growers on Friday, February 14.

The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) has announced the farm tours and workshops that will be included in the 2014 Ohio Sustainable Farm Tour and Workshop Series, featuring free public tours of some of Ohio’s finest sustainable and organic farms.
