Body:
The Youngstown Eats project focuses on providing healthy meals, locally sourced and ready to eat, to youth in Youngstown who have poor access to good food. The project will engage a wide range of community members and resources to produce, process, prepare and deliver the meals, bringing the food chain to the neighborhood level for youth who need better nutrition. The currently proposed plan is to implement the project as part of a Community Food Project that includes the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation, Goodness Grows, Commonwealth, Inc., and OARDC. This group will provide network support to implement the project and communicate the results for those interested in other organizations and other cities.
See attached file, Youngstown Eats-Fueling Kids Fuels Neighborhoods, for an overview of the original proposal made at Stinner Summit V.
