The Appalachian Staple Foods Collaborative and Shagbark Seed & Mill Co. has been working with area educators from schools and the Health Department to contribute grain lessions and demonstrations to the efforts of Live Healthy Appalachia for the last month. That work will culminate this Saturday at the Live Healthy Appalachia Conference at the Athens Community Center in Athens on East State Street, just down the road from the largest open air farmers market in Ohio. Come on down! Shagbark Seed & Mill Co. will join many other community members at the conference to show just how delicious healthy food can be!

Our kids must know what "Live Healthy Appalachia" means and what its role is for our community. My wife participated at the conference at the Athens Community Center and she found out a lot of things about healthy food, unfortunately I could not attend this because I had to visit my brother that is staying in an alcohol rehab center. The conference gathered a lot of people from our community; I never thought this could bring so many people together.

Nowadays, it is very hard to get healthy food. On the other hand, most of the people do not care about balance diet. Not caring about balance diet can definitely results in malnutrition. Similarly, even in developed countries problem of obesity is seen high due to junk food. It is very essential to consider on the matter. Doctors like San Francisco doctors, stakeholders, government have to start a campaign and if possible make a system to survillance the quality of food in city.
