All the issues seem similar to growers here in Ohio. Cooperatives of growers owning and operating their own MPU sounds like the way to go. What are your thoughts?

Certainly a nut that needs cracking
We face the same issues in rural Minnesota. We end up driivng 360 miles (2 round trips) to get our free range chickens butchered at a USDA poultry plant. How do we face this issue in an era of declining resources and at the same time an increased interest in local/regional foods? Best hopes, Kathy
